PEEL 3D LAUNCHES PEEL 2, AN AFFORDABLE 3D SCANNER THAT CAPTURES COLOURS AS NEVER BEFORE

Featuring three cameras, peel 2 delivers unparalleled realism

Lévis, Québec, Canada, 7 May 2019 – The professional-range and affordable 3D scanner developer peel 3d introduces peel 2, a new variant of its popular scanner, which features three cameras making it now possible to capture the colours of objects with an unprecedented level of scanning accuracy for a device in its price range.

Two years after breaking into the market with peel 1, a professional-grade budget-friendly scanner which is now successfully distributed in over 30 countries, peel 3d is back with an even more powerful device that’s just as easy to use as its predecessor.

“peel 2 pushes back all technical boundaries and redefines the concept of affordable 3D scanners. It will appeal as much to artists wishing to switch over to digital as it will to medical professionals wanting to scan the human body or mechanics working with existing components. It is by far the most comprehensive entry-level scanner on the market,” explains head of the peel 3d initiative François Leclerc.

LIFE IN COLOUR
Borrowed from high-end 3D scanners, peel 2’s new integrated colour capture functionality opens up a whole new world of possibilities for its users. They will finally be able to archive objects in high definition and in their original colours. Among other things, they can now capture design details and annotations found on an object, as well as monitor the progress and accuracy of the surface colouring.

The device also features:

  • three cameras instead of just the one on the previous model, enabling it to capture increasingly finer details with enhanced resolution;
  • a system that uses the texture of scanned objects to improve its ability to accurately position itself in space;
  • the reviewed and improved peel 2.0 software offering more tools and functionalities in order to achieve even better results.

Priced at US $7,490, peel 2 is available online at peel-3d.com and from select retailers. Its predecessor, the peel 1, is still available for purchase at US $5,990.

The peel 3d solutions are powered by 3D scanning pioneer Creaform, a unit of AMETEK, Inc.

IngeniArts and its revolutionary UGOWORK® batteries for forklifts attract the attention of major Quebec investors

Quebec City, April 8th, 2019 – Quebec technology enterprise IngeniArts will benefit from the expertise of businessmen Louis Têtu and Pierre Marcouiller who, along with Investissement Québec, have chosen to invest in the development of the company and its UGOWORK® batteries aimed at the global forklift market.

This contribution from three investors successfully completes a new round of funding for the high-growth company which works closely with big names in its field including Toyota, Crown, Groupe Robert, Bridgestone, Diageo, Sleeman, Courchesne Larose, and many more.

“Being joined by such renowned organizations and business people is an additional mark of confidence in our company’s standard of excellence and the uniqueness of its technology. With multiple projects in Quebec, Canada and the United States, there’s a vast market potential and the expertise of our new partners will be of great help in managing our growth effectively,” points out Philippe Beauchamp, Cofounder and President of IngeniArts Technologies.

“The incredible team behind IngeniArts is targeting a niche market and as yet largely unchartered waters for technology companies. It’s a pleasure to be able to contribute to its success,” asserts Pierre Marcouiller.

“In five years, IngeniArts has managed to develop radically innovative technology, combined with a much more efficient business model for its customers, challenging the established modus operandi of forklift fleet managers. It’s a true honour to be able to help boost the growth of outstanding Quebec entrepreneurs,” Louis Têtu goes on to say.

“We are proud to offer our support to an innovative local manufacturer operating in the green technology sector which has developed an unparalleled product and business model. Investissement Québec is delighted to join forces with prominent private investors and contribute to the growth of a major Quebec player with the potential to dominate the North American scene in the field of lithium-ion batteries for forklifts,” asserts Investissement Québec President and CEO Pierre Gabriel Côté.

PAY THE BATTERY JUST LIKE A CELL PHONE
IngeniArts is the first company to adopt the Energy as a Service – EaaS concept. Its UGOWORK® batteries have the capacity to transmit data usage and performance in real time to the company which then invoices clients solely for the energy consumed by their forklifts; it’s a business model similar to the one used by telecommunications providers when charging for the use of cellular phones.

“As soon as a customer operates 2,000 hours or more per year, the EaaS formula will generate significant savings, as well as provide incomparable peace of mind,” Philippe Beauchamp points out.

UGOWORK® batteries are clean, safe and easy to use. Featuring a built-in charger, they can be plugged into any electrical outlet. They integrate seamlessly with all available models of forklift and their thermal management system guarantees they will work even in the worst conditions, making it the greatest innovation to date in the field of lithium-ion batteries for forklifts.

An exclusive collaboration in support of Chaînon
CATHERINE POGONAT INTRODUCES THE POGONAT!

Quebec City, 4 March 2019 – TV and radio host Catherine Pogonat and designer Camille Côté unveil the Pogonat, an exclusive, limited-edition hat that will be available on 8 March, on International Women’s Day, for the benefit of the Chaînon organization. This sleek, trendsetting and colorful hat is the result of an electrifying collaboration introduced by Fabrique 1840, a new retail community set up by Simons, which showcases the creative work of Canadian artisans through innovative initiatives.

“Hats can transform without going overboard and that’s what I really love about this accessory. And it’s also the reason I chose to work with Camille, who blew me away with her style and audacity. Together, we came up with the idea for a streamlined design, without any of the usual bells and whistles. We added a lovely punch of colour to give it a striking and fashionable look,” explains Catherine Pogonat, a huge fan of hand-crafted products who readily accepted Fabrique 1840’s invitation to be in charge of its artistic direction.

“Catherine’s vision was what inspired me to create something that was different, with an emphasis on simplicity yet still stands out. The result is a balanced combination of our two perspectives,” says designer Camille Côté, whose creations have been turning heads since 2014. In fact, she’s the woman behind the iconic “cropped hat” designed to perfectly fit all heads thanks to an integrated elastic band.

IN SUPPORT OF CHAÎNON
All profits from the sale of the Pogonat will be donated to Chaînon, a non-profit providing shelter to women in need. “The organization is of utmost importance to me. I was once the patron of Chaînon and it was an intense and rewarding experience. It was therefore only natural for me to team up with these amazing women,” Ms. Pogonat points out.

This first ever collaboration is just the beginning for Fabrique 1840. The team is currently busy putting together new pairings as an original means of highlighting the creativity of other Canadian designers.

To purchase the Pogonat, just click here (available on 8 March for a limited time only).
